Philippe ODENT
Senior Partner
Philippe Odent has over 35 years' experience, including 25 years with Deloitte. Since 1992, he has made substantial contributions to the development of audit, tax and advisory services in Africa. He participated in the establishment of Deloitte & Touche Congo s.p.r.l., Deloitte & Touche Rwanda s.a.r.l. and Deloitte Burundi s.p.r.l., which he coordinates today under the name GPO Partners.
He is a member (035/04) of the IRC, the Congolese Institute of Certified Accountants, since 2004, and a member (A041) of the OPC, the Burundi Order of Professional Accountants, since 2007. He was a member (A00842) of the IRE, the Belgian Institute of Registered Auditors (a member of IFAC), from 1986 to 2020. He is fluent in French, English and Dutch, written and spoken.
As Statutory Auditor or Mission Partner, he has audited and advised several Belgian and international groups active in Africa, Asia, Europe and the United States, and has carried out many audit, valuation and consulting assignments in different countries. He has also organised numerous training seminars on auditing and financial analysis in Belgium and Africa.
Since 1997, in Rwanda, Burundi and Congo (DRC), he has worked as auditor, consultant and tax advisor, assisting many entities across a wide range of sectors of activity.

Patrick GASHAGAZA
Managing Partner
Patrick Gashagaza is a Rwandan national and a qualified accountant with more than 25 years of experience in international audit firms, including Price Waterhouse and Deloitte & Touche. He is the Managing Partner of GPO Partners Rwanda and one of the leading accountancy professionals in Rwanda.
He holds a university degree in Applied Economic Sciences from the University of Kinshasa, with a specialisation in Financial Management obtained with distinction in 1990, and holds an ACCA professional qualification recognised as equivalent to a UK Master's degree.
He is a Registered Professional Auditor with the accountancy professional body in Burundi (OPC) and was a member of the Steering Committee that established the professional accountancy body in Rwanda (iCPAR), of which he remains a member. He is also a member of ACCA (UK), an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb, UK) and a member of the Kigali International Arbitration Centre (KIAC).
Over more than 25 years, Patrick has led and supervised numerous audit engagements, internal control assessments, due diligence and business valuations, and tax and advisory assignments across industrial and commercial companies, financial institutions and internationally funded projects in Rwanda, Burundi and the DRC

Martin NKURUNZIZA
Tax Partner
Martin Nkurunziza is a Tax Partner with GPO Partners Rwanda, with more than 18 years of experience across both Deloitte & Touche Rwanda and GPO Partners. Since July 2002 he has served successively as senior auditor, supervisor, manager and tax partner, leading the firm's accounting and taxation department.
He has supervised and contributed to numerous consulting, audit, accounting and taxation assignments for banks, insurers, commercial companies, hotels and government institutions.
Before joining the firm, Martin worked extensively with the tax administration in Rwanda. In 1996 he was appointed Tax Auditor in the Large Taxpayers' Unit of the Tax Department, and in 1997 was promoted to Chief Tax Collector. He played an active part in the creation of the Rwanda Revenue Authority in 1998, where he served as Chief Tax Collector and later Head of the Audit Division for Small and Medium Enterprises until 2002. He then worked as a consultant with the World Bank Mission to Rwanda.
Martin holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics. He is a member and currently Chairperson and Legal Representative of the Association of Tax Advisors of Rwanda.

Josiane MUKAYIRANGA
Audit & Assurance Partner
Josiane Mukayiranga is the Audit and Assurance Partner at GPO Partners Rwanda and a qualified accountant with over 16 years of experience, including experience with Deloitte.
She is a member of ACCA (UK), the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Rwanda [CPA(R)] and the Institute of Internal Auditors. She holds an MBA in International Business and Finance from Oklahoma Christian University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, majoring in Accounting.
Josiane has extensive experience in leading financial statement audits, group audits, internal control and risk assessments, business valuations and other assurance and advisory engagements. She has worked with businesses, financial institutions, public-interest entities and donor-funded organisations across a wide range of sectors. She is recognised for her analytical rigour, sound technical judgement and commitment to audit quality.

Philippe PHANZU
Audit & Tax Partner - Congo (DRC)
Philippe Phanzu Nlandu is the Audit & Tax Partner of GPO Partners Congo (DRC). He is a Chartered Accountant (Expert-Comptable) and a member of the Ordre National des Experts-Comptables (ONEC).
A Congolese national, he holds a Licence in Applied Economic Sciences from the University of Kinshasa (2002) and is a finalist trainee of the Institut des Réviseurs Comptables (IRC).
Philippe joined the firm in 2008 and brings more than 12 years of experience in audit and taxation, leading engagements for clients across the Democratic Republic of Congo. He works fluently in French and English.

Louis NDIKUMANA
Resident Manager - Burundi
Louis Ndikumana brings twenty years of experience in financial and private sector development, both nationally in Burundi and across the East Africa region. This experience was built through coordinating and managing development projects focused on facilitating MSME access to financing and improving the business climate. He also developed strong enterprise-support expertise through his work at FODEV ("Formation pour le Développement"), a local organisation specialised in strengthening the technical and managerial capacities of MSMEs, which he has promoted and legally represented since 2005.
Through this cumulative experience, Louis Ndikumana has worked on several projects funded by international donors, including the Netherlands Development Cooperation (Kingdom of the Netherlands), the World Bank, IFAD, the European Union and UNDP, across themes including financial inclusion, rural finance and MSME development. His expertise also extends to managing cost-shared grant funds, having led the "FORCE: Fonds pour la Relance, les Conseils et les Échanges" microfinance fund for more than seven years before joining the World Bank-funded Financial and Private Sector Development Project (PSD).
Louis Ndikumana holds a Doctorate in Management Sciences, specialising in Finance, from the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) in Belgium, as well as a Master in Business Administration (MBA) specialising in Finance from the same university. He began his university studies at a military academy in Burundi, the Institut Supérieur des Cadres Militaires, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Economic and Administrative Sciences, specialising in Management.
Louis Ndikumana pursued professional certifications alongside his career and is a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA – Burundi), certified by KSNEB, the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examinations Board. He has served as Resident Manager of GPO Partners Burundi s.p.r.l. since 1 November 2021.
